Nick Fox
Nick is the Head of Logistics at the Link Theory fashion group based in London. Nick’s recent experience was as Managing Director of fashion specialist logistics company, Mode Logistics, where in addition to the physical distribution issues, Nick put a big emphasis on helping SME fashion brands to upgrade their Online and Wholesale IT infra-structures. It was this experience where Nick saw that the potential of smaller brands to make headway was often held back by fears of not knowing how to make small, but high added value, process improvements within their supply chains. As such, he developed a USP of working with SME brands to make inexpensive but critical developments to improve their ways of working. Prior to this, Nick worked developing global supply chains for a large Supermarket supplier and an accessories business, and was also Logistics and Operations Director for WDT Limited, who were owners of the Firetrap fashion label. He has also had experience in building supermarket supply chains in Eastern Europe just after the Wall came down in the early 90s, and with running the global catering logistics of British Airways.
Throughout these roles, Nick has always emphasised constant process improvements and feels these factors are often forgotten, leading to high costs, high labour turnover and poor customer service. In his view, these are the building blocks of a successful online and off-line retail operation, and should be seen as having the same importance as the physical product that is sold. He has a passion to see small retailers succeed. His final ambition is to improve his Spanish.
